All the art work you’ll find on the website – the icons for the categories and the Welsh landscape that appears on the footer has been created by Gwenno Llwyd from Creu_Co.

Creu_Co is a small digital drawing and art business based in North Wales. Following encouragement from her family and friends, the owner, Gwenno Llwyd set up the business by starting an Instagram account in November 2020.  She has always enjoyed drawing and design work, rooting from her time studying Civil Engineering at Cardiff University and A Level in Design and Technology.

Lockdown gave her time to pick up the ipencil again, mostly for relaxation at the start, while creating prints of some of her favourite places for her home. In her spare time, Gwenno loves to walk and run which is why so many of her prints are of the mountains of Snowdonia and the North Wales coast.

Gwenno says “The aim was to create unique but simple icons. Elaine Biss says that drawing using lines as seen in the smallbusinesses.wales icons is “the kind of art that is deceivingly powerful” and that is exactly what I felt when I was designing. The motto was “less is more”!

According to Caryl Owen, the founder of smallbusinesses.wales “ I’m so grateful to Gwenno for designing the icons and the footer for the website. They are most definitely a talking point, they suit the design of the rest of the website, and obviously, Creu_Co is a small business that is located in Wales, something that was very important to us here, being able to tap into and showcase some of the incredible talent we have here in Wales.”
